Following the second Test, Mohammed Shami will join the team and fly to Australia with Rohit Sharma in advance of the inaugural Border-Gavaskar Trophy Test.

New Delhi: The opening Test match of India’s five-match Border-Gavaskar Trophy series against Australia is scheduled to start on November 22 at Perth’s Optus Stadium.

At first, there were worries that Rohit Sharma might miss the game for personal reasons, but now that his newborn boy has been announced, it appears probable that the Indian skipper would join the squad before to the Test. Another plus for India is that Rohit will go with Mohammed Shami.

Dainik Bhaskar said that Mohammed Shami may travel to Australia with Rohit Sharma before to the first Test match in Perth. It’s still unclear, though, if both will be in the starting lineup for the first game. After not recovering in time, Shami, who has been injured for about a year, was left out of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy squad.

Mohammed Shami’s childhood coach, Mohammed Badruddin, said Indian Express that following the second Test match in Adelaide, the ace fast bowler is anticipated to go to Australia to join Team India.

Following the Adelaide (second) Test, he will be joining the Indian squad. He will be vital to the squad in the second part of the trip now that he has returned, shown that he is healthy, and taken wickets, Badruddin stated.

Mohammed Shami made a spectacular return to competitive cricket in the 2024 Ranji Trophy, playing for Bengal versus Madhya Pradesh, following a 360-day hiatus. By collecting four crucial wickets and destroying the Madhya Pradesh batting order, the great fast bowler made a spectacular comeback.

With remarkable numbers of 4/54 from 19 overs, Shami took the crucial wickets of Saransh Jain, Kumar Kartikeya, Kulwant Kejroliya, and Shubham Sharma.

Mohammed Shami maintained his impressive form in the second innings, taking three more wickets.

He also contributed significantly with the bat, hitting 37 runs from 36 balls, including two fours and two sixes, which strengthened his comeback in the game.
