The Sabarmati Report, directed by Vikrant Massey, received accolades from Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi praised Vikrant Massey’s most recent film, The Sabarmati Report, which is based on the February 27, 2002, Godhra train fire tragedy, on X (previously Twitter). In his review of the movie, the Prime Minister, who was Gujarat’s Chief Minister at the time of the tragedy, wrote, “Truth is coming out.”
“Well said,” Modi said in a retweet of a Tweet that praised the film. The fact that this reality is being revealed in a form that the general public can understand is a positive thing. There is a limit to how long a false story can continue. The truth will always be revealed in due time.

Well said. It is good that this truth is coming out, and that too in a way common people can see it.

The Sabarmati Report explores the events that followed the terrible incident in which 59 passengers were killed when the Sabarmati Express’s S6 coach caught fire at Godhra Railway Station. Kar Sevaks returning from Ayodhya after taking part in the Ram Temple movement made up the majority of the casualties. In Gujarat in 2002, communal rioting followed this tragic incident.
The Kashmir Files, directed by Vivek Agnihotri and based on the huge migration of Kashmiri Hindus from the Kashmir valley during the height of violence in the state, was commended by Prime Minister Modi in 2022.
The Sabarmati Report has steadily increased in the box office since its Friday publication. It made Rs 2.1 crore on Saturday, a 68 percent increase in earnings over its Rs 1.25 crore opening. After two days of release, the current domestic box office total is Rs 3.35 crore.
