Samuel L. Jackson revealed in a recent interview that the majority of people forget performances that were nominated for Oscars and even some that won.

Samuel L. Jackson, a Hollywood actor best known for playing Nick Fury in Marvel movies, believes that receiving an Oscar nomination is overrated and that winning the prize is the true honor.

Samuel stated in a recent interview with AP that he doesn’t think just an award nomination is sufficient.

“We’ve been in the industry long enough to understand that when people say, ‘Being nominated is merely an honor,’ No, it isn’t. In an Associated Press video, Samuel stated, “Winning is an honor.” While doing publicity for his movie The Piano Lesson, he sat next to Michael Potts.

Despite his illustrious career, Samuel has only received one Oscar nomination, for Pulp Fiction in 1995. In 2021, he received an honorary Academy Award. He claimed to Vulture last summer that the award “didn’t feel honorary” and “just felt like I was getting an Oscar.” In 2022, he told The Times that he was worthy of winning the Best Supporting Actor Oscar in 1995 instead of Martin Landau, who took home the trophy for Ed Wood.

He said in an interview with Vulture last year that he was denied a second Oscar opportunity when he failed to receive a nomination for Joel Schumacher’s 1996 legal thriller A Time to Kill.
