“Before that, she had tried [suicide] 4-5 times, but it was destiny that when my son’s turn came, it happened,” actress Zarina Wahab, who is Sooraj’s mother, said in a recent interview with Lehren about Jiah’s terrible demise.
Jiah Khan reportedly made four or five suicide attempts before to her untimely demise, according to Zarina Wahab: “It was fate that it happened when my son’s turn came.”

Wahab said, “If you spoil someone’s life with lies, it’s like a loan that will come back with interest,” in reference to the tremendous toll the event took on her son’s profession and their family. She bemoaned the harm done to Sooraj’s career in the interim but was relieved that he had been cleared after ten arduous years.
The actress emphasized that they maintained Sooraj’s innocence by waiting patiently for the facts to come to light. Although Wahab acknowledged Jiah’s past difficulties, she chose to keep her dignity and did not go more into the situation.
Soon after his arrest, Sooraj Pancholi was released on bond after spending 22 days in jail. A special CBI court cleared Pancholi of all accusations in 2023, stating that there was insufficient evidence to support the allegations against him.
