On the second day of the IPL super auction, Prithvi Shaw was offered for INR 75 lakh, but no buyers showed interest.
At the IPL 2025 big auction in Jeddah on Monday, Mumbai batter Prithvi Shaw was not sold. Despite being offered at a base price of INR 75 lakh on the second day of the auction, he failed to draw any buyers and was not returned in the expedited round.

In a social media video that went viral after the IPL rejection, Shaw spoke out against the constant bullying he has had since his cricket career ended.
Shaw was shown discussing how he handles criticism on social media in a video that was first posted on the YouTube channel “Focused Indian” on the day of the Jeddah auction. While he acknowledged that some of the shared memes and messages harmed him, he pointed out that the majority of these social media users do not follow him on any of the networks but are monitoring his behavior.
How will he troll if he isn’t following me? That indicates that he is watching me, which is good.Shaw stated, “I don’t think trolling is a good thing, but it’s also not that bad.” “I also see memes that are made about me. I get harmed occasionally.
Shaw recalled a recent instance of trolling in which he was seen dancing in a video that went viral on social media. He questioned the reasoning for some of the harsh responses he saw and remarked that it was only his birthday.
How will he troll if he isn’t following me? “I feel like trolling is not a good thing, but it is not such a bad thing either,” Shaw added, indicating that he is watching me. “I also see memes that are made about me. I get harmed occasionally.
“I wanted to know what I had done wrong. I am aware of any mistakes I may be making. However, if anything is in order, it ought to be displayed in that manner,” Shaw stated.
“It’s shameful that Shaw didn’t sell at the IPL auction.”
The Delhi Capitals dismissed the India U-19 World Cup-winning captain prior to the high-profile auction after he had played for the team for seven seasons starting in 2018. Shaw, who has been struggling in local cricket and was recently cut from Mumbai’s Ranji Trophy team, allegedly because of fitness issues, reduced his base price from INR 2 crore to INR 75 lakh, but it did not attract any interest.
Speaking to JioCinema, former DC assistant coach Mohammed Kaif called it “shameful” that Shaw was not selected at the auction and advised him to return to concentrating on local cricket in an effort to restore his image.
Delhi strongly supported Prithvi Shaw. They thought he could hit six boundaries in an over and control the powerplay, and he did. In a single over, he hit Shivam Mavi for six fours, Kaif remarked.
“Perhaps now he returns to the fundamentals. “Someone like Sarfaraz Khan made it into the national team by scoring a ton of runs,” the former cricket player from India said.
