The ICC Champions Trophy 2025 has been the subject of a fierce battle between the PCB and BCCI.
The BCCI has made it clear that the Indian National Cricket Team will not be traveling to Pakistan. This is because, for security grounds, the Indian government has refused to allow the board to visit the neighboring country.

However, the Pakistan Cricket Board has maintained a firm position. They have often said that they plan to host the full 2025 ICC Champions Trophy in their backyard.
The PCB is adamantly opposed to shifting the event outside and even hosting it under a hybrid model, and they have also expressed this to the ICC.

However, PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi issued a firm statement on Thursday, stating that they are committed to their position and that they want Pakistan to host the full event. Additionally, he emphasized that they will decide what is best for Pakistani cricket.
Mohsin Naqvi on Jay Shah: “I’m sure he will consider the ICC’s benefit once he moves from the BCCI to the ICC.”
In addition, Mohsin Naqvi stated that he believes Jay Shah would make the choice while keeping the interests of ICC in mind whenever he becomes leadership. He clarified this to reporters in Lahore:
“Jay Shah assumes leadership in December, and I have no doubt that he would consider the ICC’s advantage after switching from the BCCI, which is what he ought to do. Anybody who takes on such a job should solely think about the organization’s interests.
The ICC just named Jay Shah as its chairman. Making the choice about the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 will be his first significant task as the world organization’s new leader, which he will assume in December.
