Preity Zinta lost her father when she was thirteen years old. She had a difficult journey from a middle-class background to become a popular Bollywood actress.

With her flawless performance and endearing smile, Preity Zinta won over many hearts with her 1998 Bollywood debut in Dil Se. Her path from a middle-class childhood to become a renowned actress has not been simple, either.

Her father, Durganand Zinta, an Indian army officer, died in a vehicle accident when she was 13 years old. She was born on January 31, 1975. The same event left her mother, Nilparbha, seriously wounded and bedridden for two years. This occurrence was a turning point in Preity’s life and drove her to develop rapidly.

According to some previous rumors, the actress was presented her a property worth Rs 600 crore, but she declined. Filmmaker Shandaar Amrohi, the son of seasoned director Kamal Amrohi, saw her as his daughter. According to reports, Shandaar intended to bequeath Preity Zinta all of his belongings. She turned down the offer, though. According to reports, the property was valued at Rs 600 crore.

Zinta has been embroiled in a number of scandals, chief among them being her testimony in the Bharat Shah case in 2003. Despite suffering threats of extortion while filming Chori Chori Chupke Chupke, the actress testified against the Indian Mafia. Zinta did not back down, in contrast to other witnesses who did. She spent two months out of the spotlight and under witness protection.

Regarding her private life, Zinta was in a relationship with businessman Ness Wadia from February 2005 until May 2009. Rumors of engagement and breakups often made news during their relationship. She accused Wadia of groping, threats, and abuse during an IPL game at Wankhede Stadium in 2014, when she filed a complaint against him.

On February 29, 2016, Preity Zinta married Gene Goodenough in Los Angeles. In 2021, the couple became parents to twin girls. Since being married to Gene, the actress has been residing in Los Angeles.
