Actor Nayanthara’s spouse, director Vignesh Shivan, has deleted his account on X, previously Twitter. Here’s why!

Filmmaker Vignesh Shivan, Nayanthara’s spouse, recently shut his X account (previously Twitter) in response to internet criticism. Following his attendance at the Galatta Plus Mega Pan India Directors’ Round Table 2024, a roundtable discussion for pan-Indian directors, the filmmaker has apparently been receiving negative feedback on social media. According to accounts, some people questioned his presence and voiced criticism.

A few individuals brought out the fact that neither his future movie, Love Insurance Company, nor his last film, Kaathuvaakula Rendu Kaadhal (2022), are pan-India productions. The show’s presenter also faced criticism for the guests he chose to invite.

After attending the interview, Vignesh reportedly terminated his X account a few days later. He hasn’t yet made a remark on this. His Instagram account is still live, though. Additionally, he published content on Instagram, but he made no mention of deleting his X account.

Additionally, this coincides with the ongoing legal dispute between Dhanush and Vinesh’s wife, the actress Nayanthara. Dhanush has sued Rowdy Pictures Private Limited, their production company, for utilizing three seconds of his work Naanum Rowdy Dhaan in their Netflix documentary, Nayanthara: Beyond Fairytale.

Nayanthara attacked Dhanush on Instagram for attempting to stop her documentary’s distribution. “A seasoned actor like you, with the help and blessings of your father and your brother, a successful director, needs to read and comprehend this,” she wrote. As everyone knows, the film industry is a battle for survival for someone like myself, a self-made lady without connections in the field who had to work hard to get to where I am now. I owe this to my work ethic, which everyone knows, but more significantly, to the generosity of my cinema community and the public.

Nayanthara added that the team ultimately chose to re-edit and accept the current version after two years of arguing with the actor and waiting for his approval for the documentary’s release. This was because he refused to allow the use of “Naanum Rowdy Dhaan” songs or visual cuts.
