Ahmedabad Hotel Rates Jump as Coldplay Fans Plan January Stay

Fans are shocked by the spike in accommodation rates caused by the excitement around Coldplay’s January 25, 2025, performance at Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium.

Coldplay’s concert in Ahmedabad is expected to attract thousands of fans after their run of performances in Mumbai on January 18, 19, and 21.

With estimates of rates as high as Rs 50,000 per night on the event date, the demand for hotel rooms has become problematic.

Even travel points couldn’t eliminate price shock, according to one user, who said, “When even miles don’t come to rescue.” Hotel rates in Ahmedabad have already soared for the 25th and 26th.

Others expressed their annoyance, stating that they had wanted to reserve rooms in advance but were taken aback by cost increases at the last minute.

A fan shared their booking difficulties: “I paid Rs 1,800 for a one-night stay. Watch as this expense rises to Rs 18,000 in a matter of hours.

When tickets for Mumbai went on sale, astute fans who had been speculating about an Ahmedabad performance back in September reserved accommodations in response to the overwhelming demand. They avoided the latest price increases, suggesting that their forethought paid off.

The enthusiasm has only increased with Coldplay’s return to India as part of their Music Of The Spheres World Tour.

The event, which is being produced by BookMyShow Live in collaboration with Live Nation, is the band’s first visit to India in almost ten years. The Ahmedabad show’s tickets will go on sale exclusively on BookMyShow on November 16 at 12 p.m.
