CSK’s 2025 Auction Lineup: Players’ Base Price, Age, and IPL History Revealed

Player list for the CSK IPL 2025 Mega Auction: Five times Former captain MS Dhoni has been retained as a “uncapped” player by the Indian Premier League winners, who will be captained by Ruturaj Gaikwad.

In the Indian Premier League (IPL), the Chennai Super Kings have a lengthy and illustrious history. Under MS Dhoni’s leadership, CSK won their maiden IPL title in 2010 after making it to the final of the first season in 2008.

They had to wait another seven years for their third IPL championship, after successfully defending their title in 2011. In the meanwhile, CSK was suspended for a few seasons due to allegations of IPL spot-fixing. Following 2018, CSK won a few more championships in 2021 and 2023 under Dhoni’s captaincy.

Over the past 16 years in the T20 league, CSK’s brand value has increased to Rs 1,950 crore. However, the Chennai team finished tied with Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), who secured the last position, and missed out on the IPL 2024 playoffs by a slim margin.

Five players have been retained by CSK ahead of the IPL 2025 Mega Auction: MS Dhoni (Rs 4 crore), Matheesha Pathirana (Rs 13 crore), Shivam Dube (Rs 12 crore), Ruturaj Gaikwad (Rs 18 crore), and Ravindra Jadeja (Rs 18 crore). After spending Rs 65 crore on their retentions, their team’s prize in the auction would be Rs 55 crore.
