After a fast-paced bidding of unsold players, the IPL 2025 Mega Auction has concluded. Arjun Tendulkar, son of Indian superstar Sachin Tendulkar, joined the club for the following season for a base price of 30 lakh. His supporters were shocked when the Mumbai Indians didn’t initially bid for him, but in the last round of the historic auction, the Mukesh Ambani-led team selected and re-signed the bowling all-rounder.

The Mumbai Indians’ legend, Sachin Tendulkar, is a part-time member of the squad. He leaves the squad at the end of the season. Due to COVID-19, the master blaster was unable to travel with the squad for the 2020 IPL, which was hosted in the United Arab Emirates. He also missed the first half of the 2021 IPL and only joined the team for the second half of the massive tournament.

When did the legendary Sachin Tendulkar join MI?
After winning the championship in 2013, Sachin left the IPL, but he remained MI’s symbol prior to the 2014 season, a position he has maintained ever since. As head coach of MI, Mahela Jayawardene is in charge of team administration. Sachin has collaborated with Mark Boucher, Jayawardene, and Ricky Ponting; Jayawardene returned to the position following the 2024 Indian Premier League.
Hardik Pandya will remain MI Captain.
The Mumbai Indians’ captain for the 2025 Indian Premier League will still be Hardik Pandya. After guiding Gujarat Titans in the IPL in 2022 and 2023, the great all-rounder returned to MI as captain before the 2024 tournament.
