According to Diljit Dosanjh, the lyrics to his songs, including Born To Shine, GOAT, Lover, Kinni Kinni, and Naina, don’t mention alcohol. Watch the video.
Punjabi musician Diljit Dosanjh has taken issue with a news presenter who singled him out and questioned him about the alcohol-related lyrics in his songs. Diljit addressed the Lucknow crowd in a lengthy video that he uploaded to Instagram on Friday.
According to him, Indian films should be subject to the same regulations as singers who are required to censor their songs. Although Diljit told the anchor that movies had also won National Awards, he claimed that singers are easy targets.
Diljit discusses his tunes.
“Ek anchor sahab hai TV pe unke baare mein zaroor baat karna chahta hoon,” Diljit stated in the video. K Diljit sharab ke bina gaana hit kar ke dikhaye, wah mujhe challenge derahe. Just so you are aware, sir, Kinni, Born To Shine, GOAT, Lover As an example, in the case of Patiala Peg, the streaming is available on Spotify. Patiala Peg se bohut zyada (I would like to discuss a TV anchor.) Woh jo aapka challenge hai woh toh bekaar ho gaya kyuki mera already bohut saare gaane hai jo hit hai.
He pushed me to write a popular song without mentioning drinking. Just so you know, sir, there are several songs that are streamed more on Spotify than Patiala Peg, including Born To Shine, GOAT, Lover, Kinni Kinni, and Naina. Since I have a lot of songs that are more popular than Patiala Peg, your challenge is invalid.

Diljit wants everyone to be subject to the same censorship.
“I am not defending myself or my songs,” he added. Main sirf itna chahta hoon ki agar aap censorship lagana chahte ho gaano pe toh woh censorship Bhartiya cinema pe bhi hona chahiye. Correct? Toh jitni badi gun utna bada hero bhartiya film mein. Jisen sharab ka gaana ya scene nahi kiya kaisa bada actor hai? Hello, koi? Yaad araha hai? Toh koi yaad nahi araha, mere ko. If you want to censor songs, then you should also filter Indian films, please. Toh agar aapne censorship lagana hai toh, sab pe lagao.
The larger the weapon, the greater the hero in Indian cinema. Which well-known actor hasn’t performed a scene involving booze or something similar? Is there anybody? I can’t recall. Therefore, if you wish to impose censorship, do it on everyone.
What took place
The dispute began before his performance in Hyderabad when he received a notification from the state government telling him to refrain from singing songs about violence, drugs, and alcohol. Diljit has been criticizing the unfair treatment of artists ever since his performance in Ahmedabad.
