On December 1st, Jay Shah became the new chairman of the ICC. Shah attended a special meeting with the directors and employees of the ICC Board on his first visit to the ICC headquarters in Dubai as ICC President on December 5.

“This tour gave me a great opportunity to connect with my colleagues on the ICC Board, where we discussed the initial roadmap and strategies to shape the future of this incredible game,” Shah stated following his visit. Meeting the committed ICC crew, who put forth a lot of effort to advance cricket, was another pleasure for me.

Shah acknowledged the hard road ahead and characterized his visit as motivating and helpful. “I am excited by what I saw, but I think this is just the beginning,” he remarked. Now that the hard work to elevate cricket to new heights has started, I have no doubt that we will succeed as a team.

Shah’s ambitious plan for the game was also commended at the same time by ICC Vice President Imran Khwaja. “I would like to welcome Mr. Jay Shah to this position and share my enthusiasm for his tenure,” Khwaja stated on behalf of the board. Mr. Shah’s drive and background will be useful in directing the ICC and the sport going forward. Everyone has found the trip to be extremely beneficial. To succeed, we are eager to collaborate closely with him, the members, and the ICC staff.

It is crucial to note that Jay Shah will chair a critical ICC meeting today. The discussion will focus on the Champions Trophy dispute. Following this discussion, a formal statement about the Champions Trophy’s hybrid model organization is anticipated. The PCB had to concede to the ICC after a protracted period of insistence. Dubai is an option for a neutral location.
