According to Raj Kundra, he is “fully complying” with the current inquiry. “No amount of sensationalism will cloud the truth,” he added.

Actor Shilpa Shetty and her husband, businessman Raj Kundra, spoke out after a raid at their home by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) sparked many reports. On Saturday morning, Raj Kundra requested that people refrain from “repeatedly dragging my wife’s name into unrelated matters” in a brief message posted on his Instagram Stories.

“To whoever it may concern,” Raj said, “Let me clarify that, despite the media’s apparent penchant for drama, I am completely cooperating with the ongoing inquiry that has been going on for the past four years. Regarding the allegations of “associates,” “pornography,” and “money laundering,” let’s just say that justice will ultimately triumph and that no amount of sensationalism will distort the facts.”

Additionally, he said, “A message to the media: It is not appropriate to constantly bring up my wife’s name in irrelevant contexts. #ED (emojis of folded hands and a nazar amulet) Please respect the borders.

Raj’s home was raided by ED

According to news agency PTI, the Enforcement Directorate searched Raj and a few others’ homes on Friday in connection with a money laundering case involving the purported distribution of adult and pornographic films. The residence and workplace of 49-year-old Raj and a few other individuals were among the about 15 sites in Mumbai and a few Uttar Pradesh cities that were examined. At one of these locations, Raj was allegedly also questioned by the CIA.

Shilpa’s remarks following the ED raid

In a statement that followed, Shilpa’s attorney claimed that she had “nothing to do with any offence.” The reports, according to advocate Prashant Patil, were “misleading.” According to media reports, the Enforcement Directorate conducted a raid on my client, Mrs. Shilpa Shetty Kundra. These reports are inaccurate and untrue. Since Mrs. Shilpa Shetty Kundra has nothing to do with any kind of offense, the Enforcement Directorate will not be conducting a raid on her per my directives. But the matter in question is still being investigated in relation to Mr. Raj Kundra, and he is assisting the inquiry in order to uncover the truth,” it stated.

Additionally, the attorney asked reporters not to use images or videos of Shilpa when discussing the issue in their stories. Since Mrs. Shilpa Shetty Kundra is unrelated to the matter, I would ask that the print and electronic media abstain from utilizing her name, videos, or images. Strict action will be taken against careless journalism that shares images or videos of Mrs. Shilpa Shetty Kundra in connection with this issue,” the statement said.

This year’s cases against Raj

This is Raj’s second case involving money laundering. Raj and Shilpa’s assets totaling ₹98 crore were seized by the ED in a bitcoin case earlier this year. However, the Bombay High Court granted the couple relief from this attachment order. In 2021, he told a local Mumbai court that the prosecution (Mumbai Police) had not even the slightest piece of proof linking the app “Hotshots,” which was utilized in the alleged porn video racket, to a legal offense.
