Shah Rukh Khan, the Bollywood actor, is the highest-paid celebrity this year in terms of taxes. Actor Akshay Kumar was left behind by Shah Rukh in the 2023–24 fiscal year after he paid an astounding 92 crore in advance taxes.
Tamil film star Thalapathy Vijay, who gave ₹80 crore, is just behind Shah Rukh Khan. Salman Khan, who contributed ₹75 crore, Amitabh Bachchan, who contributed ₹71 crore, and cricket legend Virat Kohli, who paid ₹66 crore in taxes, are next in line.

Stars like Ajay Devgn, Ranbir Kapoor, Hrithik Roshan, Shahid Kapoor, and Pankaj Tripathi are also having a big influence on the tax-paying list. With Kareena Kapoor paying ₹20 crore and Katrina Kaif contributing ₹11 crore in advance taxes, Bollywood’s leading actresses also have a significant role. Based on their tax payments, these two are among the wealthiest actresses in the business.
With a total of ₹66 crore, cricket player Virat Kohli was the highest tax payer in the sports industry. In addition, he became the nation’s wealthiest player. Former Indian cricket captain MS Dhoni, who spent ₹38 crore, comes next. The list of top taxpayers also includes up-and-coming players like Hardik Pandya and Rishabh Pant, as well as cricketing greats like Sachin Tendulkar and Sourav Ganguly.
