Allah Ghazanfar of Afghanistan, who was selected by the Kolkata Knight Riders to replace Mujeeb-Ur-Rahman in the 2024 Indian Premier League, set a record that Vaibhav surpassed.

This is not the 13-year-old’s first time making headlines. He had previously recorded an international century at the age of 13, 288 days, making him the youngest batter to do so.

After hitting 104 off 62 balls in an India Under-19 Youth Test match against Australia U-19 in Chennai, he accomplished the milestone. He surpassed the previous record of 14 years and 241 days that was held by Najmul Hossain Shanto, the current captain of Bangladesh.

However, some people began discussing age fraud as soon as Vaibhav accomplished a historic achievement. There was a dispute before, with some claiming that Vaibhav is actually fifteen years old. In response to these claims, the child’s father, Sanjiv Suryavanshi, told news agency PTI, “He initially went for a BCCI bone test when he was eight and a half years old. He’s played for India U-19 before. We have no fear of anyone. He can take the age test once again.
